1. Certificate Submission to TPR
Once you have completed your ELDT course and achieved a Passing Probability of 80% or more, we will automatically submit your ELDT Theory Certificate to the FMCSA's Training Provider Registry (TPR). This is an important step because it officially records your completion of the theory portion of the ELDT certification.
2. Verification of Submission
You can verify that your ELDT certificate has been submitted to the TPR by visiting the TPR Check page. All you need to do is enter your details, and you will be able to see the status of your certificate.
3. Receiving Your ELDT Certificate
After your certificate has been submitted to the TPR, you will receive a confirmation both on the website and via email. Attached to the confirmation email, you will find a PDF copy of your ELDT certificate. It's important to keep this copy for your records. It serves as proof of your completion of the theory portion of the ELDT certification.
4. Next Steps: The Behind-the-Wheel Training
Completing the theory portion of your ELDT certification is a significant accomplishment, but there's still more to do. The next step is to complete the Behind-the-Wheel (BTW) portion of the ELDT certification. This involves practical, hands-on training that must be completed with a separate BTW provider.
You can find BTW providers near you by visiting the Training Provider Registry and selecting "Behind-the-Wheel" in the "Training Type" selector. Please note that this portion is required for all plans, except for the HazMat ELDT + Exam Prep.
